Delivering an all-employee event with a difference

The Client

MoneySupermarket Group exists to help every household make the most of its money and operates the largest price comparison website in the UK. In 2016 alone, the Group has saved customers over £1.6bn through its three brands: MoneySupermarket.com, TravelSupermarket.com and MoneySavingExpert.com.

The Challenge

MoneySupermarket Group was approaching the end of a three-year change journey. It wanted to deliver an all-employee conference that would showcase success and build pride at a time when colleagues were uncertain on the next steps. So engaging everyone in the plans and priorities for the next 12-18 months was a top priority. With the three customer brands having very distinct identities, enabling colleagues to feel part of a united Group was also particularly important.

Our Approach

Internal Communications Specialist Sarah Sheasby led a working party representing different parts of the business. Sarah used her strong track record in event management to support the working party to develop a highly interactive employee event in response to colleague feedback.

On the day, attendees were invited to rotate between two innovation zones and a Q&A lounge:

  • The Customer Zone featured demonstrations, IT self-discovery areas, displays and informal seminars presented by colleagues at all levels.
  • The People Zone engaged colleagues in live testing and feedback of the latest HR tools available for appraisal, learning and development.
  • The intimate Q&A format meant people were more inclined to ask questions and the leadership team could share equal visibility on stage.

The approach also included more traditional presentation elements and colleague recognition.

Client Feedback

As a result, 93% of attendees agreed the event was ‘a valuable use of time’ and 96% said they felt a ‘greater sense of pride’ in the Group’s achievements.
